Past Principals

    Evelyn Carswell-Bing was the first principal of Lulu Walker Elementary School - 1963-1967. She joined us at our school's 50th anniversary celebration in 2013! True dedication to excellence!

    Robert Nelson was our principal from 1967 - 1970.  I don't have a photo of him and we'd be very grateful to have one!  jpowers@amphi.com

    Gerald Butler was the principal from 1970 to 1973.

    This is Elliott Becken's high school photo. :) He was principal of Lulu Walker from 1973 to 1977 before moving on to becoming superintendent of Amphitheater Public Schools.

    From 1977 to 1982, Jim Patterson was our principal.

    George DeGregori was principal from 1982 to 1986.

    Paul Ritz was in charge for five years. 1986 to 1991

    Marynell Schlegel was one of Lulu Walker's longest lasting principals. She held the title from 1991 to 1999.

    Before moving to Administration at Amphi, Roseanne Lopez was in charge at Walker from 1999 to 2007.

    John Eichelberger did a great job as our interim principal for the 2007 - 2008 school year.

    In 2008, Jon Lansa came to Walker and was "promoted" to principal at Amphi High School in 2011.

    Michael McConnell was the principal at Walker from 2011 to 2016, before moving to Amphi's STEM school.
